Summer is in full swing and so are those hornets. You can find them almost anywhere. Cool right? Always there when you need one. I'm not going to lie. I hate stinging things. With. A. Passion. But this one...its kinda cute, and when I researched about thier little lives they don't seem so bad anymore. So listen up.
Hornets will only sting if they feel like their colony is being threatened. They tend to be no aggressive any other time. SERIOUSLY. They are actually quite shy and passive, so let them fly by without shooing them away. Let them go their way and you go yours. Homer is all for this! In an interview for Pest Control Magazine he recently was quotes as saying, " Man if you humans would just leave our houses alone, we wouldn't have to pull out our stingers for y'all!" He sure is eloquent with his words. Am I right?
Homer wants you to know tht he is a very social creature. He digs hanging in his close knit colony with his other friends. Occasionally someone mistakes him for a wasp or yellow jacket. While these are close cousins make no mistake about it. He is one fun loving hornet who loves sap and honey just like the rest of them. AND he totally loves to dine on aphids that destroy trees. See? This guy has some good qualities going on!
This felt mask is adjustable with an elastic allowing It to expand and grow with your little hornet. The felt is soft on the skin. While designing this creepy, I MEAN swell mask I couldn't decide which shade of yellow to use so I did a few of both. You can choose at checkout which you would like. The difference is subtle but its there!

Sizing details
My masks fit children and adults alike. I use a base pattern with a set eye size and spacing. The elastic at the back is approximately 12 inches long for all masks. This is for a fit on different faces, it may be big on a smaller tike or tighter on an adult head. Therefor I consider it one size fits most. The outline of the piece does vary slightly depending on the animal. For instance the fox has whiskers so it's a bit wider than the chicken because it's shape is more rounded. Please refer to photos, no photos available? Send me a convo and I'm happy to help. My pieces are designed for fun and function. Most masks have 2-4 layers of fabric. There are times when all those layers won't work with a design and a single layer will be used.
Care instructions
I use Eco-fi felt that is a material made from recycled plastics. It's surprisingly soft and cleans up well with some mild soap and water.

Custom and personalized orders
I rarely take on custom orders because it is not cost effective for me. I cut and sew in bulk for my pieces. However if you would like something like a larger elastic or a ribbon instead of the elastic I use than I am happy to accommodate for this type of change.
How does the tail attach?
Each tail has a tab that fits around a pant loop. A belt or sash is then threaded through the normal loops of the pants and it secures the tail into place. Its a two part system for security and allows for fun movement.
Will the crowns fit my childs head?
All of the crown headpieces can be customized to fit your child's head...just put your child's head measurement in the notes section of your order (in inches please!) and I'll make sure its a nice custom fit! For accurate measuring use a tape measure or a string (compare against a ruler when you are done) going around the crown of your child's head where a baseball hat would lay. Viola!
