Zoozoo the Zebra Felt Mask and Tail
So lets get the most commonly asked question about Zoozoo out of the way. Why does a zebra have stripes? Some scientists think that they help to confuse predators and insects. Other think that they somehow control the animals body temperature. It is a bit of camouflage in the high sun's shadows. Still others think that because each zebra has a different pattern of stripes that they may serve to help identify individual zebras. All the above answers are amazing.
What is not known is that Zoozoo is actually responsible for many of these stripes. How you ask? He's a painter and considers himself an animal artist. It started long ago with his great great great great grandfather who was himself a painter. Zoozoo was taught how to mix paints and how to make his own brushes from the grasslands that he wanders. Its quite lovely actually. He is single handedly responsible for each and every one of those stripes! Once an antelope saw his work and asked to be painted too...now Zoozoo paints all of them too!
So to say he is busy is an understatement. He teaches painting classes, he paints the newborns and the ones who get scuffed. He has even started his own body paint company. Zebras are super stealthy and roam from water hole to waterhole. This is Zoozoo's work space, there are always more zebras to be painted and they await for him there. Zoozoo is in fact the most sought after zebra in all of Africa. I guess you could say he is pretty proud of his work.
This felt mask is adjustable with an elastic allowing it to expand and grow with your little artistic zebra. Keep that family pride going! The tail attaches with a tab that you can thread a belt or sash thru to at the waist. Keep the painting going!
This mask will provide hours of fun and entertainment while encouraging you little one to use her imagination at the same time.
Thanks to Acro Dance Co. for the request to create Zoozoo and for his name!

My masks fit children and adults alike. I use a base pattern with a set eye size and spacing. The elastic at the back is approximately 12 inches long for all masks. This is for a fit on different faces, it may be big on a smaller tike or tighter on an adult head. Therefor I consider it one size fits most. The outline of the piece does vary slightly depending on the animal. For instance the fox has whiskers so it's a bit wider than the chicken because it's shape is more rounded. Please refer to photos, no photos available? Send me a convo and I'm happy to help. My pieces are designed for fun and function. Most masks have 2-4 layers of fabric. There are times when all those layers won't work with a design and a single layer will be used.
I use Eco-fi felt that is a material made from recycled plastics. It's surprisingly soft and cleans up well with some mild soap and water.
Because I am a one woman working machine I only consider smaller wholesale orders here. Contact me for more information.
I rarely take on custom orders because it is not cost effective for me. I cut and sew in bulk for my pieces. However if you would like something like a larger elastic or a ribbon instead of the elastic I use than I am happy to accommodate for this type of change.
Each tail has a tab that fits around a pant loop. A belt or sash is then threaded through the normal loops of the pants and it secures the tail into place. Its a two part system for security and allows for fun movement.
All of the crown headpieces can be customized to fit your child's head...just put your child's head measurement in the notes section of your order (in inches please!) and I'll make sure its a nice custom fit! For accurate measuring use a tape measure or a string (compare against a ruler when you are done) going around the crown of your child's head where a baseball hat would lay. Viola!
